Death Ship (1980) - Repost

I've always dug this 1980 floating haunted house movie Death Ship, directed by Alvin Rakoff as one of the many Canadian tax shelter cinematic ventures. Worthy of note is that favorite Jack Hill participated in writing the screenplay.

After their cruise ship has been rammed and sunk, a lifeboat full of survivors comes into contact with the rusting hulk of an aged freighter. Far from a rescue vessel, it's not long after everyone is on board that the ship's dark past creates terror and trouble for all.

The Big Doll House (1971)

This 1971 women-in-prison genre defining film is another jewel in the crown of skilled director Jack Hill. The Big Doll House was shot in the Philippines and features Sid Haig. This movie is also notable as Pam Grier's first major film role. She also contributed to the soundtrack, performing the song "Long Time Woman."

Spider Baby (1968)

Spider Baby or, The Maddest Story Ever Told was one of director Jack Hill's (The Big Doll House, Coffy, The Swinging Cheerleaders, etc.) earliest features. Initially shot in 1964 but financial problems with the producers resulted in many complications and it was not released theatrically until 1968. A favorite of mine, this odd movie is perfect for some pre-Halloween viewing.
