The Pogues with Kirsty MacColl – Fairytale of New York – the video & live version

When it come to Christmas mixes or playlists, The Fairytale of NY always has a place between such other holiday favorites as Little Saint Nick by The Beach Boys or anything off The Carpenters or Elvis' Christmas records. An unconventional holiday song for sure, but that's a good thing when relatively new and worthwhile additions are often difficult to discover.

  1. Hey Scott. Thanks for posting this. I don't think I've heard it before. It is nice to hear something different at Christmas. We hear the same old songs all the time.

  2. Hope you enjoyed this Christmas tune from off the beaten path. Both The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl are both favorites of mine, so put 'em together and it's always good.

  6. A Pogues road trip sounds like messy fun good times! Go for it. They're going to be one of the first to play the new House of Blues on Lansdowne Street. I haven't purchased tix, but I should. Too many cool things to spend an increasingly smaller chunk of dough on - like Tim & Eric coming to the Wilbur next month.

I also have great chunks of vagueness where the early 90's are concerned, but I do recall ya from Emerson. Thanx for checking out the blog...
